Greetings

Welcome message of the President
of the Hungarian National Skating Federation

It is indeed a pleasure for me to extend a warm welcome to the participants of ISU European Figure Skating Championships again in Hungary after 10 years.

Ice skating has become one of the sports enjoying a high priority in Hungary, which could ensure the long-term development of ice skating disciplines and may contribute to Hungary’s becoming one of the top skating nations again.

As the President of Hungarian National Skating Federation and the Organizing Committee of the Championships, I take great pride in acknowledging that the capital of Hungary has been selected as the host city of the most prominent European figure skating event of the season one more time following 2014.

Budapest, the cultural and sports centre of Budapest, host city of several world championships and international events is looking forward to greeting the participants and viewers of the European Figure Skating Championships with its marvellous sights and a high variety of programs.

I am convinced that at the championships preceding the XXII Olympic Winter Games both the audience and the TV viewers will be enchanted by the spectacular performances of the skaters. I would like to take the opportunity to wish all the athletes the best of luck in presenting your programs, and may all the spectators have an enjoyable and memorable European Championships!
